Optometrist

Dr. Amy Walport grew up in Southern Oregon and earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology at Southern Oregon University. She then pursued professional training at Southern California College of Optometry, earning a Doctorate in Optometry.
“Providing comprehensive eye exams is about much more than vision; it’s my way of supporting the overall health of my patients and our community.”
Dr. Walport has honed her expertise in a variety of settings, including LASIK and cataract centers, where she gained valuable experience in both surgical and medical eye care. In 2015, she returned to her home state to be closer to family and to focus on offering personalized, pressure-free service to her patients.
Passionate about patient education, Dr. Walport believes that comprehensive eye exams not only safeguard vision but also reveal important insights into overall health. She is committed to helping patients see their best—whether through glasses or contacts—and ensuring they fully understand their eye health so they can make confident decisions about their care.
Dr. Walport joined the Siskiyou Eye Center in 2025 and now sees patients in the Ashland and Yreka offices. She enjoys connecting with members of the community she has always called home and values the opportunity to provide high-quality care in a welcoming setting.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Walport and her husband own Walport Family Cellars, a boutique winery in the Applegate Valley, where they craft bold reds and distinctive white blends. She enjoys balancing her dedication to her patients with the rhythms of vineyard and farm life, and she treasures being rooted in the community where she grew up.
